AWS now offers Mac mini in the cloud

The AWS has become the latest corporate player in the Mac space, offering Mac minis in the cloud for developers seeking infrastructure based on this environment.  Times are changing  Amazon's "Mac mini as a service" is now available, reflecting Apple's continued growth in enterprise computing. It is the first time that AWS has offered to run macOS on demand in the cloud, the feature can be scaled and accessed on a pay-as-you-go basis and allows developers to access dozens of additional AWS services.  These Mac instances can be used to develop, test, secure and sign Xcode applications for the Apple platform, including macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS and Safari. The service aims to "speed up the development lifecycle" for application developers on Apple platforms.   Here's what Amazon says:  "Our customers tell us that they would love to have their Apple building environment integrated with AWS services," said David Brown, vice president of EC

Users have resistance with service by robots

It is possible that you have already noticed that year after year we are increasingly serviced by recordings or automatic messages whenever we use a customer service (SAC). This is because robotization allows for a much greater number of calls than humans in the same period of time. But, despite being good for business, the other side of the counter is not satisfied. A survey by the online research institute Qualibest showed that consumers prefer to talk to real people when it comes to solving a problem. As much as the robot software tries to simulate a service as human as possible, whether with more natural recordings on the phone or colloquial phrases in chats and applications like W hatsApp and Telegram , people prefer traditional contact, with another person, on the other side of the line. According to the survey, 31% of respondents do not like telephone service with a robot and 41% go further: they said they “hate” this type of service. The survey also shows that 51% of people lik

Fintechs and Central Banks need to put in place mechanisms capable of identifying atypical patterns that can signal fraud. It is also important that the principles of Open Banking and data sharing are used responsibly and ethically in all products, services and technologies. The volumes of real-time payments will continue to grow in 2021, digital currencies will continue to become popular and data and consumer privacy will remain one of the most discussed topics. And with that, industry players wil

Do not test disaster recovery plans

When was the last time you tested your disaster recovery (DR) plan? Probably a long time ago, especially if you have been busy just keeping up with the daily challenges of supporting a domestic workforce. Just because your applications are in the cloud, it doesn't mean that they don't depend on certain web and database servers and other infrastructure elements. Part of any good DR plan is to document these dependencies and have a manual that describes the most critical workflows. The Linux system administrator has an active role in patching, compiling, securing, and troubleshooting Linux servers in a heterogeneous environment. The professional performs system updates and server configurations.  Another big part of any DR plan is to do ongoing testing for partial cloud failures. You will likely experience some interruptions. Even clouds from Amazon, Google and Microsoft experience this from time to time. Netflix was one of the first places to popularize general chaos engineerin

Main benefits of a Smart Grid

To further understand the advantages of a Smart Grid, let us now see the four characteristics that differentiate it from a traditional power grid. She is: flexible: facilitates the management of variations in generation and consumption; reliable: thanks to information sent in real time and remote network management, the risk of power outages and incidents is reduced; affordable: all different energy sources can be integrated into the network and, thanks to the interconnections present, consumers can also take advantage of renewable energy generated in large quantities in distant regions, when there is not enough in the locality; economic: better management leads to reduced costs.
